This is the debut CD from Dawn Desiree, who is also a part of the heavy metal band, Rain Fell Within. Over the five tracks it's mainly piano based songs, and Tori Amos instantly springs to mind. Although it's dark you could well imagine mass appeal and bigger things for Dawn as some of this is very commercial in the easy-listening genre. Best of the five tracks is 'While I Lay Here'. It has a Miranda Sex Garden feel about it with its echoing unaccompanied vocals until some melancholy piano is brought to this dark song about broken love. Darker still is 'My Eyes are closed'. Again it has the dreamy Miranda Sex Garden style vocals whilst a dark organ-style keyboard covers the background to this rather short two-minute song. Also clocking in at two minutes is the final track 'Thy Painted Garden', a dreamy classical style song consisting of whirling wind samples, creating a lot of atmosphere in its short existence.
